In the material universe, all matter tends toward chaos. The law of entropy only echoes Isaiah’s age-old revelation, “…for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment…” But the Kingdom of God is governed by a different set of laws. In the Kingdom, everything tends toward rest. In the Kingdom, entropy will end.
In the Kingdom, everything tends toward rest.
Can you imagine a world without pain? Can you see in your mind’s eye a place where the only tears are tears of laughter, and the only fear is the fear of the LORD? One day our eyes will witness incomprehensible colors; our ears will hear the secret songs of all creation. Can you picture a world where everything sings?
My heart longs for the kingdom where the stones cry out in chorus, and the leaves laugh gentle hymns, where the water hums in harmony with the wind. I want to walk where the little ones are ever playing by the banks of an eternal shore, where the Light of Life resounds throughout all the atmosphere, where the river runs whose streams make glad the city of God.
Wonderland awaits through the gates that only sons and daughters can see.
Wonderland awaits through the gates that only sons and daughters can see. Only children may walk into the wondrous hills of forever-and-ever land. Born-again in the bosom of belief, we will walk together, hand-in-hand, into the undying light of day.
Open my eyes to see and my ears to hear. As I draw nearer to You, You draw nearer to me until I can no longer tell where You end and I begin. I am in You Father, and You are in me. Perfect Your love in my heart. Tear down all the strongholds of fear and unbelief. Root out all that remains of my misperceptions. Close the doors to my old ways that no one can open; open the doors to Your new life that no one can shut. Amen.
Isaiah 51:6 – Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and they who dwell in it will die in like manner; but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will never be dismayed.
Matthew 18:3 – And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Revelation 21:4 – He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
