Descend into the daring depths of grace
Drenched and overtaken by a dream;
Do not allow disquiet or regret
To darken your undawned discovery.
The ancient arid water table waits
For free and rushing waters to return;
Breaking through the barren emptiness,
A fallow field becomes a fertile womb.
Uncovering a relic makes it new
In eyes of wonder fresh and full of youth;
The secrets lying hidden in the dirt
Are waiting for the children to unearth.
“Man puts an end to darkness,
And to the farthest limit he searches out
The rock in gloom and deep shadow.
“He sinks a shaft far from habitation,
Forgotten by the foot;
They hang and swing to and fro far from men.
“The earth, from it comes food,
And underneath it is turned up as fire.
“Its rocks are the source of sapphires,
And its dust contains gold.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
For nothing is hidden, that will not be revealed; nor anything secret, that will not be known and come to light.
