The word of God spreads forth into the void. The deaf hear and the dumb comprehend its sound. Every syllable stretches out into the infinite space of creation. His presence permeates every vowel, punches through every consonant. His frequency resonates within each intonation and reverberates in the articulation of each utterance. Even the silence of God floods and overflows with power.

Every word He speaks, every breath and song, resonates eternally. His words forever echo throughout the annals of time. His word establishes the boundary and being of time itself. His word is the foundation and formation of eternity. Heaven and Earth will pass away. His words will never pass away.

When God said “let there be light,” the substance and the permanence of light instantly presided over the universe. Nothing but light could be seen until God “separated the light from the darkness.”

In every electrical flash, in every salient streak of sun, in every galaxy, in all the vast panoply of stars, we witness the resonating effect of one imperative word from the mouth of Almighty God.

The word of God is living. A word once spoken does not dissipate into an ethereal echo. It is active, continuously performing its purpose with power. Every word spoken carries the fullness of His presence. He sings and His song sings back to Him.

If you listen closely, if you tune your ear, if you set yourself in silence and turn your attention towards Him, you may hear a song sung at the beginning of time, you may hear the barbaric bellow of a bygone age. You may find yourself sitting in the summers of Solomon, or gazing on the green meadows of paradise.

You may hear Him call you by a name that you alone can know. You may hear Him dance over you with shouts of joy. You may discover that you yourself are a word spoken from the mouth of God, choicely planted and precious. As seeds with great potential to bear the brilliant fruit of His nature, we were born by the Breath and the  Voice in the selfsame image of Love.

Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Isaiah 55:11 – so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Colossians 1:16-17 – For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
