Come and play alongside your child in a creativity-focused environment.

We run free, creative play sessions for preschool age children across Somerset and Dorset.

Somerset Community Foundation and Dorset Council have provided funding for us to tranform spaces into pop-up art studios that include a variety of engaging art stations such as; clay, painting, light and shadow play, transient art, and so on.

We encourage grown-ups to immerse themselves within the environment and explore alongside your child. There is no right or wrong way to play with the materials, or create ‘art’ – relax and have fun!

Our vision

Our vision is to bring more creativity and imagination into places where we live. The United Nations Convention on The Rights of the Child states that, ‘every child has the right to relax, play and take part in cultural and artistic activities’ (Article 31).

We want to uphold this right and give children (and their grown-ups) more opportunities to explore materials in creative ways, express themselves, and see themselves as artists.

Come and experience the benefits of creative play for yourself…

A Whole Year of Creative Play (Jan 2024-Jan 2025)

26 free play sessions, 1 huge play day, 5 collaborations with artists, and our first ever exhibition. For me, there is something really special about bringing people together in a creative environment: it’s exciting, experimental, different and a little bit brave. I once received some feedback from a parent who said, “The atmosphere is so…

Reflections from Reggio

In August, my daughter, husband and I visited The Loris Malaguzzi International Centre in Reggio Emilia in Italy. The visit was extremely inspiring and thought-provoking – one of the best trips I have ever made. Back in 2014 when I completed my teacher training at Bath Spa University, I was placed in a nursery school…
