Here are some answers to some popular questions below.
If you can’t find your question below feel free to contact us, and we’ll be happy to help.
What age are the sessions for?
Our creative sessions are most suited for preschool age children (2-5 years). During school holidays, we often run additional sessions where we welcome older children to join us. Due to the nature of the materials we use, the sessions may not be suitable for very young children (putting things in mouths etc). Babies in slings/carriers are very welcome!
Can I just turn up?
Yes, during school term times you do not need to book. Our sessions usually run from 9:30am until 11:30am. We will give a 5 minute reminder to families when the sessions are about to end. Please note all children will need to be supervised at all times throughout the session.
Is it really free?
Yes! We receive grants from Somerset Community Foundation and Dorset Council to run our sessions for free, which covers the cost of artists, volunteers, hall hire and materials. We believe children shouldn’t have to pay to access creative activities in the town that they live.
Do you have limited capacity?
To keep everyone safe and give you the best creative experience, we sometimes limit our numbers depending on the hall size. If the hall is full when you arrive, we will kindly ask you to wait outside until someone leaves. If this becomes a regular occurance, we will put measures in place to ensure everyone gets access to the activities (e.g using a booking system with different time slots).
Will we get messy?
Yes! We advise all childen and adults to wear clothing they are happy to get messy, or bring aprons/overalls – it is likely you will find evidence of creativity when you leave the building! We cannot be held responsible for any damages to clothes or belongings.
Can I take photos and videos?
To safeguard and protect our children, we politely ask you not to use mobile phones/ipads during our sessions, including taking photos/videos of any other children during the sessions. If you wish to take a photo, please ensure you only include your child/children in the photograph. We will always ask for your permission before taking any photos/videos, or if we want to share on our social media site.
